Exploring Typography - Anatomy

For this assignment I decided that I wanted to bring Futura back to its Architectural and practical roots. I decided to use this strokes as if it was an architectural line in a schematic.

So this is the final result. I really enjoyed working with the materials and to be able of turning my ideas into physical pieces. At first I was debating on the scale that I wanted to make then, in the end I decided to do something not gigantic or too small. I went for something in between so I could control their layout in the space easily.

Exploring Typography - Brainstorming

Here are some of the ideas that I had to experiment with some typefaces, I wish I had invested more time to put some more ideas out there. I am very satisfied with the end results though, I think I managed to do what I wanted with the characters and give them the personality that I wanted to give to them.

Viscom 1:1 pt.1

Here are some of the images I chose for my first project. Sometimes it gets judge with a exact criteria how to classify a composition according to the Gestalt laws. But in fact it the most useful way to create new compositions. Some of these images took me a while to decide on using them, since they are in black and white they are somewhat trickier to judge as proper examples for this assignment.

Color Connotations - Images Pt.3

Color Connotation - Color and Emotion Pt.2

This assignment although it was time consuming was also somewhat fun, and enlightening.  It seems to be natural for the eye to create the relations between emotions and color schemes by using analogous color schemes. This is why it was somewhat challenging to create some non-analogous schemes, at the same time it was a lot of fun and it taught me a lot. I also believe that the personality of each person affects very much how we create this co-relations between color and emotion. 

Color Connotation - Color Response Pt.1

It is sometimes confusing to me to describe what I feel when I see any color, at least in words. I spent more time debating if I felt this or that while looking at the color rather than writing about it. In the end I feel like it gave me some clarity about how I should approach this concept in the future.
