Hi Derick! The following are questions our professor wants us to answer in regards to your motion test.
Are the timing and transition choices appropriate for the message? Yes. Timing is done nicely.
Does the sound and volume level enhance or distract from the viewing experience? (No sound) Have you considered adding sound?
Is the approach to composition and use of space engaging and unique? Very interesting way to bring in "can be" and "art". I'm interested in how you plan to make "art" disappear so the next word can appear - I could see "art" taking up the entire space and fading away. Though the white background brings a little more focus to the colors used in the words, have you thought about doing anything else with the background?
Is there a hierarchy and clarity of message (readability/legibility)? Yes, it's very clear. "Art" could be a bit bigger for added emphasis.
Are the color choices relevant and appropriate for the message? Nice color choices - they're fun and bold. Just a thought - what if they were based on RGB or CMYK for the word "art"?
Are the typeface choices appropriate for the intended audience and message? If not suggestions? Great typeface choices. "Design can be" is very simple and clean, bringing more attention to "art".
Side note: When the shapes come in to reveal the word "art", there seems to be a glitch in the "A" (when green shape comes in) and also in the "T" (when the blue shape comes in).
Thanks Shelby! Here are some answers to your questions:
Re: sound - Yes, I am intending to add some instrumental music, maybe some from the band called "blue sky black death." Since I haven't selected a song yet I would appreciate If you check them out and give me your opinion.
Re: The transition of the word art leading to the next frame - I was planning to keep using the same type of animation in which the letters appear––the same way they would leave the frame, I think this will give it consistency and allow it to transition in a smooth fashion.
Re: Color choices - At first, in fact I thought about using RGB or CMYK colors to build the word because in fact they relate to the topic and to our profession. Still, I thought that would be a bit too expected so by using this type of colors I think it makes the idea more engaging, visually.
