Personification - This happens when a non - human object or subject is given human qualities. For example, the the statue of liberty, which is a personifications of the ideals of freedom and progress which are ideas that don't posses physical properties.
Hyperbole - In this case a object, individual with physical qualities has some or all of its features exaggerated in proportion to reality. In the case of narrative it is also a case of visualization since what is being told in a hyperbolic fashion can be visualized through the use of our imagination. Cartoons are a good example of hyperbole, as well as the paintings from Botero.
Pun - Is when a word or an object is placed in a context where it can stand for another object in a comical manner. An example can be: When I leave my cat alone with my parrot I am afraid of CATasthropic results.
Antithesis - Is a juxtaposition of opposing ideas in order to convey a message o create better emphasis
on these elements in order to create visual interest. Basky's street art is a powerful example of Antithesis.
Irony - Is the representation of an event/cause having results opposing to the expected which helps to convey a more complex message than the initial subject. Shigeo's Fukuda cannon and projectile poster is an example for this.
Metonymy - In this case a word is being used to stand as the name of an object which has a different name, but still, they have some kind of connection therefore making figurative contrast of ideas which support among themselves.
Synecdoche - Is when and object stands as the representative of a whole, or for a group of elements. And vice versa, sometimes a whole can stand as the representation of a single object.
Metaphor - Is the the relationship between two objects in which they are compared to each other in equality through a figurative and abstract course of reasoning. I.e. Killing two birds with one stone.
Parody - Is when an individual or an idea (mostly a public figure) is ridiculed or portrayed in a comical scenario.
